Short Review: Project Silence (2023)Reviewed after watching the movie

After watching Project Silence, I felt like I had just stepped out of a rollercoaster that started off strong but lost its direction midway. The movie has an exciting concept — a dense fog, a collapsed bridge, and a group of people trapped with deadly experimental dogs on the loose. Sounds thrilling, right? Well, it is… for a while.

The first half pulls you in immediately. The visuals are gripping, the atmosphere is tense, and the sense of mystery is real. You're curious to know what’s happening, who will survive, and what’s behind the chaos. The bridge accident scene is really intense and well shot.

The main actor, Lee Sun-kyun, gives a solid performance. You can feel his desperation and fear, especially when it comes to protecting his daughter. Some side characters are interesting too, especially the guy who brings a bit of humor, but most of them don’t get enough depth. They just feel like filler people waiting to get attacked.

As the movie goes on, it starts to lose focus. The scary dogs — which are actually military experiments gone wrong — should have been terrifying, but because of weak CGI and over-the-top scenes, they start to look a bit silly. Instead of feeling scared, I was sometimes rolling my eyes.

One thing that bothered me was the tone. It kept jumping from serious to funny to emotional and then back to horror, which made it hard to connect. It’s like the film couldn’t decide what it really wanted to be — a disaster thriller, a horror film, or a family drama.

In the end, I’d say Project Silence had potential. The idea was great, the first act was strong, and the visuals were decent. But the second half becomes too predictable and loses its emotional punch. It’s not a terrible movie — it’s watchable, especially if you enjoy disaster or survival films — but don’t expect anything deep or unforgettable.

My Rating: 6/10
Good for a one-time watch with low expectations.
