Short Review: Tehran Movie Review: A One-Time Watch for a Mature Audience

Tehran, starring John Abraham, Neeru Bajwa, and Manushi Chillar, is an action-thriller based on a 2012 attack on an Israeli diplomat. Released on ZEE5, it’s a quick watch at under two hours, with a no-nonsense plot that gets straight to the point.

The film's strongest point is its directness. There are no unnecessary songs or drama, making it a lean and efficient thriller. John Abraham delivers a solid performance as ACP Raghav Kumar. The action sequences are well-executed, especially the car blast scene in the first few minutes.

However, a big issue is the heavy use of the Farsi language, which requires you to constantly read subtitles even when watching the Hindi version. While this adds to the film's authenticity, it can disrupt the viewing experience. The movie is also politically sensitive and quite gory, making it unsuitable for children.

Overall, Tehran is a decent attempt at a serious thriller, but it lacks any 'wow' moments in its story or performances. It's a slightly above-average film, definitely a one-time watch if you're a fan of the genre and are looking for something direct and to the point.

Description: On 13th February 2012, a magnetic bomb exploded, destroying an Israeli embassy vehicle in Delhi. ACP Rajeev Kumar, leading the investigation, suspects more than what meets the eye. Amid political pressure and suspicions of an Iranian connection, he embarks on a perilous journey to uncover the truth, facing formidable adversaries.
